Reith, with its Baroque parish church, was first mentioned in historical records around 1190. Münichau Castle, which was once a noble residence and has been run as a hotel for many years, was built around 1460. The monk from Münichau Castle also features on Reith’s coat of arms. Whilst silver and copper were mined at Rerobichl and Astberg from the 15th to the 18th century, today agriculture, local businesses and tourism form the pillars of the local economy.

The Bichlach area, with lakes such as the Gieringer Weiher, is a popular spot for walking, hiking and relaxing in nature. Numerous paths lead through the gentle landscape, passing beautifully maintained Tyrolean farmhouses, quiet hamlets and ever-changing views of the surrounding mountains.
Hiking tip!
Reither Höhenweg – a hike of around 4 hours through meadows and woods to the Rauhen Kopf, offering magnificent views of the Kitzbüheler Horn and the Kitzbühel grassy mountains.
Take a deep breath and set off through the crunching snow to experience Reith’s quiet winter landscape. Winter walking trails lead through snow-covered fields and forests, offering a slower and more peaceful side of the mountains away from the busy pistes.
For beginners, the Reith Ski School provides the perfect setting to learn your first turns in the snow. The local mascot, the white hare “Hubsi”, is especially popular with younger skiers on the Reither slopes. Cross-country skiers will also find a variety of trails around the village, while night skiing and illuminated cross-country tracks add a special atmosphere on winter evenings.
Hiking tip:
An easy circular winter walk starts at the Reitherwirt and leads towards the Kitzbühel Country Club and on to the Auhäusl. The route continues via Hennleiten and the Griesbachhof before passing the parish church and returning to the starting point. A relaxed walk with changing views of the surrounding countryside.

At LISI World, an indoor play paradise, were kids are the real winners. Spanning over 500 m², you’ll find everything that’s truly fun: a maze and a wave slide, the Spider Tower and the Funshooter Area, table tennis and a trampoline, tricky games, and even a dedicated area for the little ones.
At Erlebniscamp+, every day brings a new adventure. A varied programme, great food and an enthusiastic team create unforgettable holiday experiences for children and teenagers alike.

The playground offers plenty of space and opportunities for children to get active. Whether it’s sliding, climbing, seesawing, swinging, spinning or playing in the sand – no child will ever become bored. The playground is located behind the church, next to the primary school.
Our alpacas accompany small groups on relaxed walks and are a special experience for both children and adults. Calm by nature, alpacas are often appreciated for their gentle and soothing presence.
Great importance is placed on animal welfare and care. The animals have plenty of space to roam freely and are fed only fresh grass, home-grown hay, water and mineral rich foods.
Alpacas are not cuddly animals, so petting should remain the exception. However, they are naturally curious, trusting and enjoy observing people in their own quiet way.
